About Bob
Bob Dickinson was born in 1955 in Reading. He did a foundation course at Northwich art school, then a BA at UEA, Norwich, before moving to Manchester where he wrote for alternative magazines New Manchester Review, City Fun, and City Life, while freelancing for the NME and other music papers. He worked at the North West Film Archive, in its very early days, and at Granada TV as a researcher and later BBC TV and Radio 1, Radio 2 and Radio 4, as a producer. Bob completed his MPhil at Manchester Metropolitan University in 1996 and his PhD in 2020 at Manchester School of Art. He writes regularly about contemporary art.
